I will write and deliver a bespoke wedding ceremony tailored entirely to you. The specific package and any additional elements will be confirmed at the time of booking.
A booking fee is required to secure your date exclusively. This fee is non-refundable in the event of cancellation, but may be transferred to an alternative date, subject to availability and written agreement. The remaining balance is due no later than 3 months before your ceremony date. Where a booking is made within 3 months of the ceremony, full payment is required at the time of booking. All fees are due as invoiced, and payment constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Your booking fee covers exclusively saving your date, two video or telephone consultations (your in-depth love story meeting and your ceremony run-through), unlimited contact by message throughout, and the writing of your completely bespoke ceremony script.
Your balance covers travel on the day, set-up and delivery of your ceremony, and a commemorative copy of your ceremony script and certificate.
Travel: Travel up to 60 miles from West Yorkshire is included in your fee. Any additional road mileage beyond this will be agreed with you in advance and added to your final balance. Where travel requires flights, ferries, train travel, car hire or hotel accommodation, these costs will be passed on to you at cost at the time of booking.
Additional Costs: Any costs beyond those listed above, such as props or additional meetings, will always be discussed and agreed with you before being incurred.
Under current law in England and Wales, celebrant-led ceremonies are not legally binding. You will need a separate appointment with a registrar to legally register your marriage. I will guide you through this process, but all registrar fees are payable directly to your Local Authority.
Should you need to cancel your booking, the following terms apply:
The booking fee is non-refundable in all circumstances. However, it may be transferred to an alternative date, subject to availability and written agreement between both parties.
If cancellation occurs after the balance has been paid, a refund of the balance will be considered, minus any charges for work already undertaken and any costs already incurred that cannot be recovered by Elaine Hankinson Wedding Celebrant.
Where a booking is transferred to an agreed alternative date, the balance payment will be carried forward to that date, adjusted to reflect any work already completed and any costs that are non-transferable or non-refundable.
All cancellations and date transfers must be requested in writing and are subject to written confirmation.
I will always do everything possible to be there on your day. In the unlikely event that I am prevented from attending by circumstances beyond my control, I will notify you as soon as possible and make every effort to arrange an alternative celebrant to deliver your ceremony from the same script. If no alternative can be found, you will be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid.
You are responsible for the insurance of your own property and any items you provide for use during the ceremony. Any claim against me shall be limited to the value of this contract.
Any variations to these terms must be agreed in writing by both parties.
