"When I announced my engagement to Elaine, a friend for over a decade, and she casually mentioned she was training as a celebrant, I immediately thought obviously! There was never going to be anyone else for the job.

What followed was one of the most laid-back, joyful planning processes in which Elaine took our bonkers stories, in-jokes, and cheerful disregard for tradition entirely in her stride — weaving them into a ceremony that felt completely, unapologetically us. She reviewed our vows for length and tone (essential when two very competitive people who love the sound of their own voices are involved), and somehow made the whole thing feel effortless.

She prepped our family members with practice readings and ritual run-throughs, and on the day she was a genuinely calming presence — no small feat when the bride is a self-confessed clumsy accident-waiting-to-happen standing on an actual cliff edge.
